Von Ruh German Shepherds was founded upon, world class quality over quantity. We much prefer a small kennel, where our dogs are part of the family, and we have the time dedicated to give each dog specialized and individual attention, every day! We are located in Harrison, OH. On an 7 acre farm, where our entire property is dedicated to the dogs space to run and play, as we are fully fenced in! Our dogs are fully health tested, as this is priority number one, which we back up for every puppy produced by Von Ruh. Our second top priority is temperament and character. With these being our 2 top priorities, any dog at or raised by Von Ruh, will not ever be considered for breeding a litter without both, excellent health and excellent character.
We are very proud of achieving World Class Championships, in both Regional and National level shows across the USA, Canada and even Germany!
Our next priority, goes towards all of our breeding dogs being titled and having their IGP1, IGP2, or IGP3. This follows the German (SV) standards, for any GSD, being considered for breeding. Some may be more familiar with the word, Schutzhund, which is what the titles are. All of our breeding dogs, have 4 complete Generations of health tested and titled Championship pedigree.

- We were fortunate to import Yumen over from Germany. Yumen competed in the 2019 German Sieger Show (BSZS) and received the amazing results of V2! Yumen has over 20; SG1, V1, or VA show ratings to his name! In 2022, he was awarded VA1 in Canada and VA3 in the USA. Yumen is one of the top producing long coat males in USA, and also Germany while he was there. Yumen is one of the Finest dogs I have had the privilege of owning. He is truly one of those one in a million dogs. Everythimg from his amazing personality and solid and true character, to his ability to go out in the show ring and have this look at me presence, to going on the Schutzhund field and showing you just how perfect he is!

Maesy, where do I even start with this beautiful lady! Maesy was the first (dog) female I imported from Europe, Maesy’s birthplace was The Netherlands. I have had Maesy since she was 10 weeks old. Maesy is a very special girl, and it has been so much fun watching her, in the shows, where she has received top show ratings at Regional and National levels, in the USA and Germany. Maesy effortlessly obtained her IGP2, and absolutely loves her job. Any job you ask, she loves and gives you 100% every time. She is front and center here at Von Ruh, the first willing and wanting to please, especially if it includes a ball! Maesy loves all things fun, including swimming in our pool! She has been an exceptional mother, and has given us gorgeous litters with superior temperaments. Maesy is best described as a happy go lucky girl, with enough energy to go around!

Brazil or as she’s known here at home “Yuri”, is a very special girl. I’m not sure I’ve met many like her in personality and character, she’s quite unique, giving you 110% every time. Like Maesy, she too enjoys swimming, one of her favorite things to do! Yuri has never met a stranger and she will be the first to give you a very warm welcome to her domain. Yuri is what you call, a patterned Sable. She is not black and red as the majority of our dogs. She is absolutely stunnning! Brazil is still showing in the shows today!

Piper! Piper is her dad, Yumen made over! She is a very special girl and she knows it! Piper draws a crowd wherever she goes with her long flowing hair, deep dark mahogany red and her super outgoing personality! Piper was bred here at Von Ruh, and an example of some of the dogs we are very proud to have produced! Piper is working on achieving her IGP titles and continues showing in the show rings today!

Gretchen is another bred by Von Ruh, her mother Maesy is one of the best females, and we see Gretchen filling in shoes already! Gretchen is a very sweet dog, with a huge personality and aim to please! We look forward to Gretchen’s show careeer which has just begun this year! Gretchen is also working towards her IGP titles.

Nixy is our sweetest and most genuinely gentle, loving and truly caring dog. Nixy has already 4 service or therapy dogs she has produced here at Von Ruh, and we are very proud of these dogs and their families! She has produced winners of Championships in the SV and AKC Show Ring as well. Nixy is a very well rounded dog, and is producing the same!

Vanida or “Nina”, is a spectacular female, she is as gorgeous as she is sweet with top of the line pedigree. Nina is a very sweet dog with true loyalty and dedication to what she wants or that you ask. Nina is finishing up her titles for IGP, and will be seen a lot more in the shows! We are very excited to have Nina as a part of Von Ruh, and excited for her future! She is a direct daughter of multi time VA Asap vom Aldamar!

Seela, what a sweetheart! She reminds me of her so very sweet mother, with the love & sas of her Father! A dear friend owns Seelas mother in Kansas City, a beautiful well accomplished female on the working field and show grounds! I was honored when she chose to breed her to Yumen, and even more so offering me a puppy from this amazing cross! Seela is still young and began her show career this year, and will soon be finished as well with her titles when she becomes of age.
